Tegma publishes its greenhouse gas inventory

Tegma Gestão Logística was one of the few logistics operators in the country to disclose the results of its greenhouse gas inventory. The survey was carried out in 2019 and 2020 and published on the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program’s Public Emissions Registry platform (https://registropublicodeemissoes.com.br).

The inventory makes it possible to map the sources of greenhouse gas emissions at each stage of the operational process, monitoring, quantifying and recording these emissions. Its periodic elaboration constitutes a valuable tool for managing emissions and strengthening sustainability actions, considered a priority in Tegma’s strategic planning.

“Through this inventory, we are improving our transparency and environmental responsibility towards clients, collaborating investors and partners”, highlights Marcos Medeiros, president of Tegma. The inventory also makes it possible to define and monitor gas emission mitigation targets and direct investments in equipment, processes and technology to the stages and sectors responsible for the most expressive emission rates.

According to annual surveys, Tegma’s 2020 emissions were lower than in 2019 due to the pandemic, which reduced the number of vehicles transported by the automotive logistics area, the company’s main division.

This year, Tegma began its process of preparing and approving the Materiality Matrix, whose emission-related strategy is being defined. In addition, the Company will implement a monthly emissions monitoring system, with a wide spectrum of analyzes to achieve an even more structured and strategic management that will allow it to fulfill, through planned and effective actions, its sustainability and environmental responsibility commitments.
